Drink a Toast to Life

Dawn and dusk came to mind when I saw a picture of myself holding my granddaughter. It amazes me how a
camera can encapsulate in a rectangular piece of paper images of a moment in time that will live as long as the picture exists. A baby in the arms of an aging man.

I can still feel inside me the glow of one early morning when my granddaughter woke up in my arms and  gave me a smile that brought in a rush the words of a song I once heard. Her smile could  light a million mornings. That was dawn.

I refuse to dwell on my image in the picture. That was dusk.

Each one of us goes through dawn to dusk in our lives. A wonder of creation.
